Retail & Range Manager – Shore Shot Pistol Range
Shore Shot Pistol Range is looking for an experienced, dependable, and motivated Manager to help lead our retail store and shooting range operations.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who can manage employees, deliver excellent customer service, maintain high operational standards, and take ownership of the day-to-day operation of the business.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader who is organized, responsible, comfortable making decisions, and able to keep the team productive and the business running smoothly in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day retail and shooting range operations
- Lead, supervise, train, and motivate employees
- Create a professional, customer-focused environment
- Ensure employees are following company policies and procedures
- Handle customer questions, concerns, and difficult situations professionally
- Oversee sales floor operations and help drive retail sales
- Maintain product knowledge and ensure employees are properly educated on products
- Assist with inventory management, merchandising, receiving, and restocking
- Monitor employee performance, attendance, and scheduling
- Help recruit, interview, train, and develop new employees
- Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and professional facility
- Ensure proper procedures are followed for firearm sales, transfers, paperwork, and range operations
- Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local firearms regulations
- Identify problems and take initiative to resolve them
- Communicate regularly with ownership regarding staffing, sales, inventory, customer issues, and overall operations
What We're Looking For
- Previous management or supervisory experience
- Strong leadership and people-management skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Dependable, punctual, organized, and accountable
- Ability to make decisions and solve problems independently
- Comfortable holding employees accountable and maintaining standards
- Ability to work effectively in a busy retail environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Retail, sales, or inventory-management experience preferred
- Firearms and shooting-sports knowledge strongly preferred
- Willingness to continually learn about firearms, products, regulations, and industry practices
- Availability to work weekends and evenings when necessary

Shore Shot Pistol Range is Lakewood’s original and Central Jersey’s favorite indoor shooting facility. Owned and operated by the Sherman family in the same location for over 30 years!
Shore Shot prides itself as being a place that both newcomers to the sport and seasoned veterans can find a safe and fun place to enjoy the sport of target shooting. We are proud to have seen multiple generations of families get introduced to firearms and firearms safety at our facility. Shore Shot is a 25 yard, 12 stall indoor shooting facility. We allow all pistol calibers and rifles up to 30-06 at 3600 FPS.
Shore Shot is always staffed with a significant number of Range Safety Officers. Our RSO’s are there to help shooters out on the range as well to monitor the lanes to make sure everyone is enjoying a safe environment. Always willing to help, whether you are unsure how to operate your new firearm or are having difficulty with an older one.
Shore Shot rents a wide range of classic and new firearms. We are always adding to our growing list of rentals to offer the best the industry has to offer to our customers.
Shot Shot has a fully stocked retail store. We are also located in the Urban Enterprise Zone which means our customers only pay half on sales tax. Making those larger purchases make just that more sense by purchasing at Shore Shot. We are very competitive with our pricing and strive to have all the hard to find firearms and accessories in stock.
